Zutly Technologies ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Lably mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
We respect your privacy. We do not sell your data. Your library data belongs to you.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account Information: Email address and password (hashed) when you create an account
- Library Information: Library name, owner name, UPI ID, QR code image
- Member Information: Names, phone numbers, email addresses of library members (entered by library owner)
- Payment Records: Payment amounts, dates, and receipt data
- Profile Photos: Optional member photos uploaded by library owner
Information collected automatically:
- Device type and operating system version
- App usage analytics (crash reports, performance data)
- We do NOT collect location data, contacts, or browsing history
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the library management service (member tracking, seat management, payments)
- To generate and store payment receipts (PDF)
- To enable WhatsApp message sending (initiated only by library owner)
- To display dashboard statistics and analytics
- To send subscription expiry notifications within the app
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
3. Data Storage & Security
- Database: Data is stored in encrypted PostgreSQL databases hosted on Neon.tech (US region)
- File Storage: Photos, QR codes, and receipts are stored on Amazon S3 with encryption at rest
- Transmission: All data is transmitted via HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords: Stored using bcrypt one-way hashing (never stored in plain text)
- Authentication: JWT tokens with expiration for secure session management
4. Multi-Tenant Data Isolation
Each library's data is strictly isolated from other libraries. Library A's administrator cannot access, view, or modify any data belonging to Library B. This isolation is enforced at the application and database level.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do NOT:
- Sell personal information to third parties
- Share data with advertisers
- Use data for marketing purposes beyond our own service
We may share data only:
- With cloud infrastructure providers (AWS, Neon.tech) who process data on our behalf under strict agreements
- If required by law or legal process
- To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public

No permission is used for any purpose other than stated above. Camera and storage permissions are only triggered when the user explicitly taps the photo upload button.
7. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data is retained as long as the subscription is active
- Cancelled accounts: Data is retained for 30 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted
- Receipts: Payment receipts are retained for the lifetime of the account for record-keeping
- Deleted members: Deleted member records are permanently removed immediately
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of all your data
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export: Request your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent: Stop using the app at any time

9. Children's Privacy
Lably is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
10. Third-Party Services
Our app integrates with:
- WhatsApp: For sending messages (only when library owner explicitly taps send). We do not access WhatsApp data.
- Phone Dialer: For calling members (only when library owner taps call button)
These are system-level intents — no data is shared with these apps beyond what the user explicitly sends.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through:
- An in-app notification
- Email to the registered library owner
- Updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
